Fleet & Scenery Overview
Altair Virtual Airlines has some of the best
aircraft models available, offering a broad range of prop, turboprop and
turbofan aircraft. The process of selecting an aircraft for our fleet
consists of scanning and analyzing flight reports to identify trends and
reviewing new models released to the simulation community. Once a model
has been identified the aircraft is flight tested in various scenarios to
ensure the model meets our requirements from a performance and quality
perspective. Then and only then is the model released to the Altair
Weavers & Painters Guild for painting.
All our planes are grouped by the divisions
they belong to within the AVA Group: so you have the the AVA -
Altair
Virtual Airlines fleet - our regular scheduled passenger operator,
the AGL - Altair
Global Logistics fleet - our regular freight operator, the AVE
- Altair
Virtual Express fleet - our regional feeder, the AVC - Altair
Virtual Corporate fleet - our first class business segment
operator, the AVAS - Altair
Virtual Aviation Services fleet - our non scheduled, non regular
special operations division with many branches itself, and finally the
timeless Classics
fleet - a well deserved resting place for our veteran aircraft and part of
the collection of our very own and unique Altair Virtual
Airlines Museum.
In addition we have also made available
excellent Scenery
add-ons, specifically designed for Altair use and accessories such as
voice packs.
At the end of this page there is also the link
to the Altair

The Altair
Flight Academy based at KLGB have taken delivery of a fleet
of Cessna 182's. Registered Altair pilots have access to the rest
of the fleet, however, this free aircraft is just what you need
to pass your initial VFR checkride, so this has got to be the
cheapest way in the virtual airline business to get your PPL.

Altair Virtual Express is the regional carrier

dark side, it's ok we won't tell. Shorts, sandals, your old torn
shirt and ball cap is all fine by us...just remember to brush your
teeth. A valid commercial license is required,
mandatory breathalyzer and drug tests held daily and no spitting in
the pit. And to our female pilots...you can't stash your curlers
behind the throttle quadrant it's against the FAA reg's. Altair Logistics

Our special operations division...
Altair Virtual Aviation Services is the division
within Altair responsible for all kinds of flights that do not qualify as
"regular" and fall out of the scope of the AVA, AVE, AVC or AGL divisons.
It may be considered our "Special Operations" division. Altair Aviation
itself has a variety of branches that allow the division to take care of
the missions it is resppnsible for. Typical tasks would be aerial
firefighting, air ambulance, search and rescue, aerial photography,
geophisical survey, humanitarian relief missions to high risk zones,
paradrop missions, crop dusting and seed sowing, environment related
observations, arctic/antarctic supply runs, and others alike. To cope with
such a variety of roles AVAS has a number of modified aircrafts and
helicopters in it's different branches like air tankers, air ambulances,
search and rescue helicopters, crop dusters... Altair Aviation operates
non-regular, non-scheduled, passenger and non-passenger, freight and
non-freight flights all over the world.

The great planes once operated by Altair...
The Altair Virtual Aviation Museum his a unique
feature from Altair Virtual Airlines. Every aging aircraft that is retired
from the Altair fleet is restored, painted in the original livery from the
time period it was first introduced in our fleet and kept in full flying
conditions in our own Museum. But we do not only have a Classics fleet, we
have also recreated the entire (virtual) history from Altair from it's
beginnings to present date. That includes having different historically
accurate liveries for our planes for every decade like most of real world
airlines had; also having the dates every aircraft was introduced to our
fleet, when they were transferred to other branches within Altair, when
they were finally retired and some very interesting collections of vintage
advertisements and memorabilia that reflects the more than 80 years of
continuous operations of Altair.
